We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager with experience in fire and security to work for an award winning, national firm in the Liverpool area.

This role will involve leadership across Customer Service, Technical Services, Stock and Stores, Field Engineers and First Line Managers, ensuring operational performance, customer delivery, technical capability and commercial objectives are achieved.

As Operations Manager you will

  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of service, maintenance and installation operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with customer commitments.
  • Drive operational performance through effective planning, resource utilisation and workload management across field and office-based teams.
  • Work closely with First Line Managers to balance engineer workloads across reactive, maintenance and installation activity, maximising productivity, utilisation and first-time fix performance.
  • Monitor operational KPIs, identifying opportunities to improve service delivery, customer satisfaction and business performance.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of the Technical Services function, ensuring complex system faults are diagnosed and resolved quickly and escalated where appropriate.
  • Maximise the use of remote diagnostics, software upgrades and technical support tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce unnecessary site attendance.
  • Lead the Customer Service function to deliver a professional, responsive and customer-focused experience.
  • Ensure reactive works, maintenance visits and installations are planned effectively and delivered within agreed service levels, with particular focus on response times for emergency call-outs.
  • Oversee the Stock and Stores function, including stock takes, inventory levels, parts ordering and material availability across stores and mobile van stock.
  • Establish and enforce consistent van stock profiles through the First Line Managers to improve engineer efficiency and first-time fix rates.
  • Take operational ownership of NSI and BAFE compliance, owning the preparation for external audits and ensuring the business remains audit ready at all times.

You will need

  • Proven operational management experience within the Fire and Security or a related engineering services sector.
  • Strong understanding of service, maintenance and installation delivery models.
  • Experience leading both field-based operational teams and office-based support functions, including technical specialists.

As well as a competitive salary, you will benefit from a £6,000 car allowance and a 20% annual bonus depending on performance.
