Vibe Recruit is currently recruiting for Pot Washers / Kitchen Assistants to join a busy and welcoming events venue in the Cwmbran area. The venue hosts a wide variety of events throughout the year, including weddings, funerals, golf events, baby showers and private functions. This is a varied role supporting the kitchen team and helping to ensure events run smoothly.
We are looking for reliable, hardworking individuals who are comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment and are happy to get stuck in wherever needed. As a Pot Washer / Kitchen Assistant, you will provide essential support to the chefs and wider kitchen team. Your duties will include:
- Making sandwiches and carrying out basic food preparation
- Helping and supporting the chefs with day-to-day kitchen duties
- Washing pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment
- Cleaning and maintaining the kitchen to a high standard
- Keeping kitchen areas clean, tidy and organised
- Assisting with preparation for events
- Providing general kitchen support as required
- Following food hygiene, health and safety procedures
About You
Ideally, you will have around 2 years' experience in a kitchen, catering or hospitality environment, although attitude and reliability are just as important. You will need to be:
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Comfortable working in a busy kitchen
- Happy carrying out pot washing and cleaning duties
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Willing to support the chefs and take on a variety of tasks
- Organised and able to work at pace when required
- Flexible regarding working hours and start times
- Professional and well presented
Hours & Working Pattern
Full-time Approximately 35 hours per week Monday to Sunday. Shifts will generally fall between 10am and 10pm, although flexibility with start times is essential. Rotas are provided one week in advance. Start times may vary depending on the events taking place. For example, if the venue has an event starting at 10am, staff may be required to start earlier to assist with kitchen preparation.

Due to the venue's location, applicants must have their own reliable transport and be able to travel to and from the venue independently.
