About the Role: Thriving in fast-paced, high-pressure environments, you excel when complex BOMs, rapid design changes, and unpredictable lead times are the norm. This isn't your typical buyer role; we're looking for someone driven to come in and transform the procurement department, bringing bold ideas, smart solutions, and massive progression opportunities for the right person.
As our Procurement Lead, you won't just manage processes; you'll transform them. You'll optimise MRP, refine master data, and create systems that work smarter in an environment where forecasts are unreliable and change is constant. Your mission: turn volatility into a competitive advantage and make the procurement department a strategic powerhouse.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the end-to-end procurement process, balancing daily execution with long-term strategy.
- Audit and improve MRP recommendations, adjusting parameters, buffers, and logic to ensure smarter planning.
- Navigate last-minute engineering changes, urgent customer requests, and supply chain surprises with confidence.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best pricing, delivery, and reliability for complex, high-mix parts.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, NPI, and Finance teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and champion accurate, actionable data in Sage 200.
- Translate detailed BOM analysis into clear commercial insights for senior stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop the team, shaping the procurement function for long-term growth.
Who You Are:
- Energised by complex, fast-moving environments and thrive on variety and unpredictability.
- Experienced in the Electronics world with a strong understanding of mechanical components.
- Passionate about continuous improvement, using MRP and data to optimise planning and performance.
- Confident in taking full ownership of a department, driving change, and delivering results.
- Calm under pressure, with exceptional adaptability and decision-making skills.
- Collaborative, persuasive, and able to inspire trust across teams and suppliers.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and relentlessly focused on accuracy and improvement.
This role is perfect if you're motivated by visible impact. You'll walk into a department full of opportunity, make it your own, and leave a lasting mark on the business. There are massive progression opportunities for the right person who wants to grow and take on more responsibility. Rapid NPI, deep multi-level BOMs, and a truly agile EMS environment are your playground, and you'll be empowered to transform the way they plan, procure, and deliver.
