We are currently recruiting for a Buyer / Merchandiser to join a highly performing team for a leading business in Wrexham. This is a great opportunity if you are looking for great variation, challenge and a fun, lively working environment.
As Buyer / Merchandiser you will:
- Maintain relationships with core suppliers and shareholders, ensuring a strong business relationship.
- Assist with supplier cost price, lead time and payment term negotiations.
- Assist with the creation of stock and sales performance reports, highlighting opportunities to drive sales.
- Manage pricing across categories to achieve a competitive position, without compromising profitability.
- Maximize the performance of your products by establishing a good understanding of your range, competitors and the wider retail market.
- Build collaborative relationships across all departments to help maximize sales, profit and efficient stock management.
- Constantly be on the look-out for improving and bringing in the best possible products, checking reviews as well as refund reports.
- Analyse sales trends, inventory levels, and production schedules to create purchase orders and maintain inventory levels within a specific budget.
- Ensure continuous product availability by proactively forecasting demand and managing inventory levels to prevent out-of-stock occurrences.
You will need:
- A minimum of 1 years' experience in a similar fast paced role - experience with buying or purchasing is essential.
- Experience working with overseas suppliers, typically from the East Asia region (desirable).
- Dynamic and eager to learn and develop within our company.
- Negotiation skills and comprehensive commercial awareness, with the ability to identify trends and consider the impact on stock levels.
- Proficiency in the use of Excel to be able to maintain ordering spreadsheets and create reports of stock and sales trends.
- The ability to find and extract data and develop a full understanding and awareness of business systems.
