We are recruiting for an experienced Building Fabric Technician to join a busy Facilities Management team, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of commercial sites. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone with strong multi-trade maintenance skills who is confident carrying out repairs across all aspects of a building, from roof level through to groundworks and internal maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive building fabric maintenance and repairs across customer sites.
  • Complete a wide range of multi-trade works including:
    • Groundworks and substructure repairs
    • Car parks, pavements, loading bays and external surfacing
    • Internal and external wall repairs and cladding
    • Tiling and decorating
    • Partitioning and ceilings
    • Doors and windows
    • Roofing, fascias and rainwater goods
    • Fencing, gates and barriers
    • Flooring, skirting and duct covers
    • General carpentry and metalwork repairs
  • Assess required works on site and provide accurate information to support quotations and material requirements.
  • Complete work orders within agreed service levels and timescales.
  • Take before and after photographs and accurately record completed works, materials used and time spent on site.
  • Manage tools, materials, equipment and van stock effectively.
  • Work safely and in accordance with Health & Safety requirements and site procedures.
  • Deliver a high standard of workmanship with a focus on achieving a strong first-time fix rate.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams.

About You

  • Has strong building fabric / multi-trade maintenance experience.
  • Is capable of completing repairs across a variety of trades to a high standard.
  • Can assess works and estimate materials and requirements accurately.
  • Has good knowledge of relevant Health & Safety requirements.
  • Is confident working independently across multiple customer sites.
  • Has excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Is organised, reliable and customer focused.
  • Takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
  • Has good commercial awareness and understands the importance of completing works efficiently and correctly first time.
