MOT Tester/Technician A great opportunity is now available for an experienced MOT Tester to join a well-established and expanding tyre and auto care business for their busy site in Shrewsbury.

You will carry out statutory MOT testing in line with DVSA regulations, ensuring all vehicles meet required safety and environmental standards.

The role is essential in maintaining legal compliance, upholding the company's quality and workmanship standards, and delivering clear, accurate, and professional vehicle assessments to customers.

The business takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service and you'll be working on a variety of vehicles within a friendly, supportive and modern workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities Carry out MOT testing in accordance with DVSA regulations, ensuring full legal and procedural compliance.

Inspect vehicle systems and components including brakes, steering, suspension, lights, tyres, and exhaust systems.

Perform diagnostics, servicing, and mechanical repairs across a wide range of makes and models.

Complete brake, tyre, and wheel alignment work to a high standard where required.

Record MOT results, job cards, and maintenance documentation, providing clear feedback on vehicle condition.

Use hand tools and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively to complete repairs and inspections.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of MOT regulations, testing procedures, and industry best practice.

Skills & Experience A valid MOT Tester license is essential.

Thorough knowledge of MOT inspection standards and pass/fail criteria across all relevant vehicle systems.

Ability to correctly identify, assess, and record defects using the DVSA MOT Testing Service (MTS).

Skilled in the inspection of brakes, steering, suspension, tyres, lights, emissions, and exhaust systems Vehicle technician qualification and relevant experience.

Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

Must have a full driver's license with no more than 9 points.
