Vibe Recruit is recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our client on a 6-month contract based in the Aberdare / Rhigos area. This role will provide professional health and safety guidance and operational support to ensure a safe, legally compliant and risk-aware working environment.

A key focus of the role will be the management, implementation and continuous improvement of DSEAR controls across relevant processes, equipment and facilities.

Location: Aberdare / Rhigos

Rate: £17.09 per hour / Paid weekly

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract: 6-month contract

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:00, Friday: 07:30 - 13:30

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day health and safety advice and support across site operations
  • Manage and support DSEAR compliance, including implementation and ongoing review
  • Conduct risk assessments, including DSEAR and COSHH
  • Support incident investigations and corrective action planning
  • Carry out safety inspections, audits and compliance checks
  • Advise on hazardous substances, flammable atmospheres and control measures
  • Support the development and maintenance of safe systems of work and procedures
  • Engage with managers, engineers and operational teams to promote best practice
  • Maintain accurate health and safety documentation

Essential Requirements:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum)
  • Demonstrable experience working with DSEAR in an operational environment (manufacturing, engineering, chemical or similar)
  • Strong understanding of hazardous substances and flammable atmospheres
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations and safety audits
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills

Desirable:

  • Experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
  • Immediate availability
