Duties & Responsibilities:

Get your engineering career off to a flying start with us and gain valuable real-world experience with advanced Avionics and Radio Test systems used by customers throughout Europe, Middle-East, and Africa. Receive structured onboarding and accelerated training which will enable you to partner closely with our customers to diagnose and resolve a wide range of technical issues. Based in our Edinburgh office, you’ll join a supportive team of experienced Technical Engineers who will mentor you as you develop technical, customer-facing, and problem-solving skills in the Aerospace, Defence, Government, and Civil Aviation sectors. This position is ideal for recently qualified graduates who are curious, motivated, and eager to specialise in cutting-edge RF communications, avionic systems, and test/measure technology.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Build technical knowledge on VIAVI’s Avionics & Radio Test products
  • Assist in troubleshooting RF and avionics-related issues such as signal quality, interference, and spectral analysis
  • Support customers by answering technical questions and helping resolve product issues
  • Deliver product demonstrations and assist with customer training sessions
  • Create and maintain customer documentation, training materials, and knowledge-base articles
  • Work alongside experienced engineers, R&D, Services, and Sales teams to improve products and customer outcomes
  • Take ownership of assigned support cases and see them through to resolution

To succeed in this role:

  • Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering; Computer Science; Physics; or related technical discipline
  • Interest in radio communications, RF systems, avionics, or test & measurement
  • Logical, methodical approach to problem-solving
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of working with customers and/or as part of a team
  • Exposure to tools such as spectrum analysers or oscilloscopes (uni labs count!)
