As a Senior Regression and Validation (RAV) Engineer, you will be responsible for developing software validation tests for industry leading 5G, 6G and O-RAN test and measurement equipment. You will be an integral part of a highly skilled cross-functional team in an Agile development environment, assisting with development of wide-ranging telecommunication protocol tests using in-house tools which ensure our product is delivered at the highest quality.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Working within cross-functional teams in a scaled Agile methodology, actively participating in product increment planning, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Design, development, and execution of functional, stress and system level tests for 3GPP 5G, 6G and ORAN.
- Debugging and investigation of test failures, ability to analyse logs and familiarity with analysis of logs in Wireshark or similar tools.
- Producing comprehensive test plans to product requirements and presenting it to stakeholders.
- Installation commissioning and configuring new systems in lab environments.
- Performing inter-operability testing in customer environment (remote/on-site).
- Creating and maintaining test documentation in Jira and Confluence.
- Work to sprint goals and deliver within the required time and schedule.
- Contribute to the RAV community of practice for quality and improvement initiatives.
- Provide support and training on new features/test setup.
Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:
- Engineering Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Wireless, or similar.
- Extensive experience in the telecommunications domain, with specific focus on E2E testing of 5G products.
- Prior knowledge or experience of VIAVI TM500 or UE simulator is desirable.
- Prior experience and the ability to understand 3GPP physical layer specifications.
- Demonstrable experience in E2E 4G/5G/O-RAN testing using various third-party network and UE simulators.
- Proven knowledge of at least one scripting language (ideally, Python).
- Ability to solve various issues using a variety of methods and techniques.
- Proven ability to work with very little input.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient collaboration and team working skills, with the ability to develop and maintain strong productive relationships.
- Proven communication skills, both verbal and written.
- The ability to work within multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines, both independently and as part of a team.
