Duties & Responsibilities:
- As Solution Engineer / Business Development Manager for our Hyperscale team, you'll occupy a strategic sales development role.
- You will be responsible for enabling and scaling fiber‑optic Outside Plant Infrastructure (OSP) test and monitoring projects in the DC hyperscale EMEA market.
- Playing a critical role in supporting and enabling sales on VIAVI Hyperscale OSP Data Center portfolio you will be promoting products which includes Fiber Optic monitoring systems for DCI construction, activation, and maintenance.
- This role aligns with the EMEA sales strategy - you will collaborate closely with the sales team and with selected key account executives in the region.
- You will take responsibility for the identification and development of new business opportunities in the Hyperscale OSP ecosystem.
- The Solutions Engineer / Business Development Manager is responsible for the introduction of network infrastructure test and monitoring solutions to new customers in the DCI space, ensuring successful penetration and development of the Hyperscale OSP market ecosystem.
Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years experience in business development, commercial strategy, or infrastructure partnerships within Cloud/Hyperscale/Colocation data centers:
- Fiber-optic infrastructure
- Telecom or network services
- Network test and monitoring
- Strong understanding of:
- OSP fiber networks (Campus, Metro, Long-haul, Subsea DCI)
- Dark fiber connectivity and DCI models
- Hyperscale resiliency and route-diversity requirements
- Experience influencing multi-million-Euro CAPEX decisions.
- Knowledge of industry test standards and OSP network test processes.
- Familiarity with hyperscaler standards and requirements in the OSP.
- Strong fibre optics technologies and connectivity background with deep knowledge in different fiber optic technologies (multi-fiber, multi-core, hollow core, high-fiber count).
- Direct experience working with or selling to hyperscalers (AWS, Google, Microsoft, Meta, or similar).
- Strong familiarity with European and regional fiber markets.
- Optical transport and DWDM ecosystems.
- Cross-border fiber and interconnection strategies.
