Responsibilities
We are looking for a Software Engineer I Frontend Focus to join our fast-growing Viator team. This role is remote-first and open to candidates based in Oxford or London, UK, with flexibility in where and how work gets done. In-person gatherings may occur for team connection, planning, or other moments.
This is a backend-focused full-stack position in which you will be working mostly on the backend with some frontend projects from time to time.
Work closely with product managers and designers; participate in the full software lifecycle from design to deployment; most engineers release code to production every few days with a daily release cycle.
Viator\’s web stack includes Java, React, TypeScript, GraphQL, Kubernetes, SQL and NoSQL and runs on AWS; you don\’t need experience with all of these, but you should be eager to learn.
Qualifications
Experience with a statically typed, object-oriented language such as Java, C#, or C++.
Bachelor\’s or Master\’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
You don\’t need to be an expert at front end development right away — we can teach that part on the job and you won\’t be tested on it in interviews.
Familiarity with or willingness to learn the technologies in Viator\’s web stack (Java, React, TypeScript, GraphQL, Kubernetes, SQL/NoSQL); eagerness to learn is expected.
