Our portfolio includes emerging businesses and strategic initiatives spanning Direct-to-Device (D2D), Ultra GEO, national connectivity projects, dual use applications, and other high value opportunities that leverage Viasat's technology, capabilities, and intellectual property.
We are seeking an entrepreneurial Senior Director, Regional Business Development (EMEA) to lead business development activities across the region.
This role is designed for a versatile business builder who can operate across multiple industries, develop strategic partnerships, create new growth opportunities, and accelerate commercialization of New Ventures initiatives.
As the regional leader, you will represent Viasat New Ventures across EMEA, building relationships, expanding partner ecosystems, identifying new opportunities, and driving growth across multiple verticals simultaneously.
This is an individual contributor role; success is measured by the quality of relationships built and the deals closed, not the size of a team managed.

- Regional Growth Leadership
- Lead New Ventures business development across EMEA.
- Identify, develop, and close strategic business opportunities across multiple emerging ventures.
- Serve as Viasat's primary representative for New Ventures with customers, partners, governments, and industry stakeholders.
- Partnership, Commercialization & Deal Execution
- Develop strategic relationships across mobile network operators, satellite operators, technology providers, satellite operators, device manufacturers, government organizations, and ecosystem partners.
- Evaluate and pursue strategic alliances, commercial partnerships, joint ventures, and investment opportunities aligned with New Ventures objectives.
- Lead complex commercial negotiations, business case development, and deal execution from initial market identification through contract closure.
- Support commercialization of initiatives including Direct-to-Device (D2D), Ultra GEO, national connectivity solutions, and other emerging ventures.
- Strategic Leadership
- Monitor industry, competitive, and regulatory trends to identify growth opportunities.
- Represent Viasat at customer meetings, conferences, and executive forums.
- Help shape industry narratives and establish Viasat as a thought leader within priority markets.
- Partner closely with New Ventures leadership, product teams, engineering, strategy, and corporate functions.

Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, corporate development, or commercial leadership.
- Demonstrated success creating and scaling new business opportunities.
- Strong experience negotiating and closing complex strategic agreements.
- Ability to thrive in entrepreneurial, ambiguous, and fast-moving environments.
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working across multiple industries, technologies, or business models.
- Strong financial acumen, including comfort with business case modeling, deal economics, and structuring complex commercial agreements.
- Familiarity working within export control, compliance, and regulatory frameworks in international business contexts.

- New doors opened: relationships established, opportunities created, and pipeline built across New Ventures verticals in EMEA.
- New business closed: strategic agreements, commercial partnerships, and deals executed that generate revenue or strategic value for New Ventures.
- Ecosystem presence: Viasat New Ventures recognized and engaged as a credible partner across priority EMEA markets.
- Location and Travel
- Must be based onsite in London, United Kingdom (Viasat embraces a hybrid/flexible working style)
- Reports to the Vice President of Business Development, New Ventures
- Significant international travel required.

- Experience within satellite communications, telecommunications, mobility, or adjacent technology sectors.
- Familiarity with Direct-to-Device (D2D), Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN), or 3GPP standards relevant to satellite-cellular integration.
- Familiarity with automotive, Io T/IIo T, aviation, maritime, government, or defense markets.
- Existing executive relationships across relevant EMEA ecosystems.
