What you'll do
The Programme Manager & Delivery Governance role exists to establish and run the delivery framework for business change, product, system, and process programmes across the organisation. Reporting to the VP, the role ensures that investment decisions, project delivery, and business change activities are wellâgoverned, visible, and actionable.
The postholder will define and operate the cadence of delivery reviews, coordinate programme reporting, and ensure decisionâmakers have clear, concise information on progress, risks, and tradeâoffs. They will also lead the lightâtouch project management of business change initiatives, ensuring consistency of approach and quality of outputs. They will also be Programme Manager for up to three strategic programmes simultaneously.
The dayâtoâday
- Establish and run delivery governance: Design and implement a pragmatic governance model across business and technical projects; set cadence for fortnightly reporting and monthly programme.
- Programme reporting: Produce highâquality written reports summarising delivery status, risks, dependencies, and investment implications; ensure transparency for decisionâmaking.
- Business change project management: Oversee the planning and tracking of change activities across functions, ensuring alignment of scope, milestones, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with finance: Ensure accurate investment templates and approval processes are used; align programme tracking with finance and benefits reporting.
- Support investment decisions: Prepare concise briefings and options summaries for executive review, synthesising complex tradeâoffs across technical, commercial, and operational domains.
- Continuous improvement: Create and embed simple, repeatable delivery processes suitable for a growing and entrepreneurial environment.
- Risk and dependency management: Maintain clear visibility of crossâprogramme risks, mitigations, and interdependencies.
- Stakeholder management: Build strong working relationships across product, engineering, operations, and business functions to ensure effective governance and delivery rigor.
- Meeting and review management: Coordinate materials, actions, and decisions from monthly Delivery Management meetings and key programme reviews.
- Documentation and knowledge management: Maintain a structured repository of reports, decisions, and programme artefacts.
What you'll need
- 7+ years' experience in programme or project management, ideally within a technology, engineering, or systemsâled environment. Consulting background is a plus.
- Proven ability to set up new governance structures and delivery processes from first principles.
- Technically literate, able to engage with Execs, engineers, product leads, and finance collaborators with credibility.
- Strong analytical and written communication skills; able to convert complex discussions into succinct decision papers.
- Experienced in coordinating crossâfunctional teams and influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority.
- Comfortable in entrepreneurial, fastâevolving environments that demand both structure and adaptability.
- Proficient in project management and reporting tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, Monday.com, Power BI, or equivalent).
