Vianet has an exciting opportunity to join our Finance team. We’re looking for a self-driven, enthusiastic individual who takes pride in delivering accurate and efficient work. You’ll take ownership of the purchase ledger across our UK and US Group companies, while supporting sales ledger, credit checks, direct debit collections and credit control. You’ll also manage daily bank postings and reconciliations and assist with key compliance submissions, including VAT, EC Sales and Intrastat this a varied, hands‑on role for someone who enjoys keeping things organised, accurate and moving forward.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the purchase ledger function for all Group companies, including the USA, including intercompany recharges.
- Maintain an up-to-date and accurate supplier database.
- Prepare and submit VAT, EC Sales, Intrastat returns, and import/export duty reports in line with HMRC deadlines.
- Complete National Statistics reports on a weekly/monthly basis as required.
- Purchase order management within SAGE accounting system and with the wider stakeholders.
- Management of Virtual Credit Cards for adhoc purchases.
- Oversee the maintenance of the sales ledger function including new customer set up, and verifying credit limits.
- Ownership of the debt cycle, managing through CreditHound including statement issue, and automated letters for friendly chase, final demands etc.
- Master MID ownership including KYC checks, weekly remit creation and issue and repayment file creation.
There are some essential skills and experience you will need to have:
- Excellent Excel and Sage 200 skills
- Highly computer literate with the ability to process information quickly but accurately (particularly with regards to Excel)
- Knowledge of basic accounting
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent communicator with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Motivated
- Knowledge of good practice working with HMRC regulations and requirements for example within Import/Export/Deferment Accounts and VAT
- Experience or an understanding of foreign currencies, ideally US Dollars and Euros
- Detail orientated and have a keen eye on picking out discrepancies
