Vialto Partners is looking for an English and Japanese bi‑lingual Global Mobility Tax Manager to join a rapidly growing Japanese‑speaking team in the UK. We have a strong Japanese network of clients and we are looking for an individual with experience on a broad range of Global Mobility Tax matters who is keen to develop and progress in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Day to day management of a variety of client engagements, varying from large global businesses through to smaller businesses with an expanding global footprint.
  • Providing clients with tax advice across a range of consulting areas, including tax residence, cross‑border moves, tax equalisation, remote working, and commuting arrangements.
  • Proactively engaging with your client and the market to develop new opportunities, managing and delivering work to a high standard, and meeting deadlines.
  • Reviewing work and coaching, and developing junior colleagues.
  • Managing and developing client relationships through business development activities.
  • Staying up to date with evolving tax legislation and best practice, and keeping clients informed of any changes.

What will be expected of you in this role:

  • Building and nurturing strong client and colleague relationships to foster long‑term partnerships and drive business growth within our Japanese client network.
  • Working within a team both globally and nationally, whilst also being able to work independently.
  • Working with cross‑functional teams and managing global mobility tax projects.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • A commitment to delivering great client service with a focus on clear and timely communication.
  • Strong analytical skills and an interest in using technology to analyse client data and improve the usability of data for clients.
  • Provides compelling and well‑thought‑out solutions to complex problems.
  • Sustains a high level of drive, shows enthusiasm and a positive attitude when coping with pressure at work.
  • Strong bi‑lingual English & Japanese language skills, written and verbal.

The candidate will have practical experience of the areas outlined above with a strong background in UK tax.
