About the Opportunity

Via is supporting our client to recruit an experienced Senior Credit Controller to join their finance team. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for managing credit and accounts receivable, collecting outstanding debt and helping the business maintain healthy cash flow.

You will manage customer accounts from both a collections and credit-risk perspective, including setting credit limits, assessing creditworthiness and resolving overdue balances. You will also work closely with sales and customer service teams to resolve account issues while maintaining strong customer relationships.

The role would suit an experienced Credit Controller who is ready for more responsibility, or an established Senior Credit Controller looking for their next opportunity.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage credit control and accounts receivable across a portfolio of customers
  • Proactively collect overdue and delinquent accounts
  • Assess customer creditworthiness and establish appropriate credit limits
  • Monitor credit exposure and identify potential risks before they become problematic
  • Carry out regular credit reviews based on payment history and changes in customer circumstances
  • Build positive customer relationships while confidently managing overdue payments
  • Investigate and resolve credit, invoice and payment queries
  • Work with sales and customer service teams to resolve issues affecting payment
  • Support improvements to credit control processes and collection efficiency
  • Help minimise bad debt and improve overall cash flow
  • Escalate accounts and instruct debt collection agencies where required

What We're Looking For

  • Around 3+ years' experience within credit control, accounts receivable, credit management or a similar role
  • Experience managing customer accounts and collecting overdue debt
  • A good understanding of credit control and credit risk
  • Confidence assessing financial information and making informed credit decisions
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • The ability to build good customer relationships while having difficult conversations when necessary
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and relevant finance systems
  • International credit control experience would be particularly useful, but candidates with strong transferable B2B credit control experience are also encouraged to apply
  • Experience managing international customers, improving collections processes or reducing bad debt would be an advantage

Why Apply?

  • £45,000-£50,000 salary
  • Hybrid / on-site working arrangement
  • Flexible start date
  • Take ownership of both collections and credit risk
  • Work with international customer accounts
  • Opportunity to improve processes rather than simply chase outstanding invoices
  • A strong next step for an experienced Credit Controller looking to progress

If you have solid credit control experience and are looking for a role offering greater ownership across collections, credit risk and customer accounts, we'd like to hear from you.
