We're partnering with a well-established organisation to find an experienced IT Technical Project Manager to drive their portfolio of IT projects through to successful delivery. This is a great opportunity for a technically-minded project management professional to take ownership of end-to-end delivery across infrastructure, data and software projects, working closely with senior stakeholders and a broad IT function.
The Role

Key Responsibilities
- Project Delivery
- Manage and deliver multiple projects simultaneously, with end-to-end responsibility.
- Define clear project scope, deliverables and success criteria.
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines and deliverables.
- Drive execution to meet milestones, quality standards and deadlines.
- Track and manage dependencies with other projects or workstreams.
- Ensure delivery to agreed budget and timescales.
- Apply a structured, proportionate approach to project management.
- Stakeholder & Resource Management
- Work closely with business areas to clarify requirements, agree priorities and manage expectations.
- Matrix manage a flexible pool of project resources alongside other IT managers.
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders across functional and divisional areas.
- Provide clear, timely updates on progress, risks and outcomes.
- Manage suppliers during delivery and support smooth transition into Operations.
- Governance & Reporting
- Maintain the IT Programme List and manage the Project Board review process.
- Support project governance across all IT projects, keeping controls up to date.
- Prepare materials for project reviews, boards and checkpoints.
- Act as a mentor and reference point for colleagues on project governance.
- Read and interpret High Level and Low Level Design documents.
- Attend Technical Design Authority meetings and validate integration approaches.
Resource Responsibility
No direct reports, but responsible for matrix management of allocated project resources, working closely with Application Support, BI, and Service Delivery Management teams.
What We're Looking For
- At least 5 years' project management experience, ideally within complex, matrixed environments.
- A technical background — e.g. prior experience as a technical analyst or in application development — before moving into project management.
- Proven track record delivering cross-functional projects successfully.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, particularly with senior colleagues.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Strong risk, issue, dependency, budget and resource management expertise.
- A proactive, self-motivated, 'can do' approach and strong team player.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- PRINCE2, PMI or similar project management qualification.
