Via East Midlands are currently seeking an Electrical Operative to join our Electrical team based out of our Gamston Depot.

What you’ll do:

  • Carry out installation and maintenance tasks on Highway electrical assets and support chargehand and Highways Electrician on site.
  • Comply with all nhss8, Health & Safety & Environmental accreditations, whilst maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy work environment for colleagues and customers.
  • Ensure that all work carried out is in accordance with drawings, specifications so that they are completed efficiently, effectively, safely and delivered within target.
  • Ensure all paperwork and electronic data is accurately processed, for it to be submitted to supervisor for final approval.
  • Liaise with Supervisor & Inspector regarding resolving any queries on site, to ensure the inventory/project information is kept up to date.
  • Be responsible for operating vehicles, plant, tools and equipment ensuring correct use and unnecessary damage, comply with daily routine checks, recording to legal requirements and reporting any damages or defects found.

What we’re seeking:

  • Full UK LGV Driving Licence.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation including Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Hold industry recognised qualifications; New Roads and Street Works Act, First Aid, Level 2 NVQ Diploma in highway electrical systems, (MEWP/ Lorry Loader advantage).
  • Knowledge/experience in the use of plant, transport, materials and operations associated with Highway Electrical Installation and maintenance activities.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Able to understand drawings, follow verbal and written instructions, and to work as part of a team completing works efficiently and safely, including basic IT skills.
