Via East Midlands are currently seeking a Highways Inspector to join our Assets & Development team based out of our Bilsthorpe Depot.

What you’ll do
- Carry out highway inspections and ordering repairs using electronic devices, ensuring adherence to current policies, strategies and national legislation.
- Undertake inspections from enquiries logged by other departments, senior leaders, stakeholders, clients and customers.
- Undertake investigation of insurance claims providing detailed reports of inspections and works ordered and represent the company and the local highway authority at court in defence of third-party claims.
- Inspect statutory undertakers during and after works in the Highway ensuring adherence with national legislation.
- Support Health, Safety and Welfare management across the Service, ensuring that Health and Safety legislation, Policy and best practice is fully adhered to.
- Act as an ambassador for the Company by promoting a positive image to enhance Via’s reputation.
What we’re seeking
- Proven experience in a highway or civil engineering related field with industry related knowledge in the highway environment.
- Good interpersonal skills with an ability to work collaboratively with other departments clients and customers to achieved agreed objectives.
- Working knowledge of a variety of IT packages including databases, word, excel and outlook.
- Proven experience in planning your own workload
- Current driving licence category B
