We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Manager to join our growing team. This position is integral to fostering a strong and compliant safety culture across all operations, with a specific focus on Part 145 Safety Management Systems. The ideal candidate will proactively manage and continuously improve safety programs, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, industry standards, and company policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with Part 145 regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to ensure compliance with EASA/FAA, OSHA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and develop corrective action plans to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Research and incorporate best practices to promote a proactive and inclusive safety culture across diverse teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related audits, inspections, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Design and deliver engaging safety training programs tailored to a variety of learning styles and backgrounds.
  • Facilitate regular safety committee meetings to encourage open dialogue and collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain safety performance metrics and reporting systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
  • Foster a work environment that values equality, inclusion, and respect to ensure all employees feel empowered to prioritise safety in their roles.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical or Aviation Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Part 145 regulations and practices.
  • Proven experience in leading Safety Management Systems (SMS), preferably in an aviation or maintenance environment.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in safety software, tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in an aerospace or aviation environment.
  • Experience designing and implementing safety training programs for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to think creatively and propose innovative safety solutions in a dynamic work environment.

Day-to-Day:

  • Perform daily safety checks and ensure compliance with Part 145 standards across operations.
  • Investigate and document incidents, near-misses, and hazards, and take actionable steps to address them.
  • Facilitate training sessions and promote safety initiatives through one-on-one coaching, team meetings, and company events.
  • Collaborate with team members and leadership to drive continuous improvement in safety culture.
  • Review regulatory updates and communicate changes to the affected stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in team discussions, offering insights to enhance safety practices while listening to the challenges and feedback of employees.
