Exceptional B1 Licensed Engineer Opportunity - London City Airport

We’re currently looking to engage with a number of B1 Licensed Engineers to join our client’s prestigious line maintenance operation at London City Airport. This is a rare opportunity to work with one of the industry's most respected operators on their modern Embraer E190 fleet.

Why This Role Stands Out

London City Airport isn't just another posting – it's where aviation professionals come to test their skills against some of Europe's most demanding operational challenges. The short runway, steep approach angles, and relentless schedule create an environment where engineers face different and more frequent problems to solve than at bigger airports. You'll be joining a tight-knit team that genuinely supports each other, working on aircraft that demand precision engineering in an environment that rewards innovation and professional excellence. The smaller 6-person team setup ensures that you get more variety of work around the whole aircraft and will increase your level of knowledge and engineering skill faster.

The Role in Detail

This isn't your typical line maintenance position. You'll be the go-to expert for both routine servicing and complex defect rectification on the Embraer E190 fleet. When aircraft go AOG, you'll be the problem solver everyone turns to. The pace is fast, the challenges are real, and the satisfaction of keeping operations running smoothly is immense. The role offers genuine variety – from scheduled maintenance cycles to reactive troubleshooting that will stretch your technical abilities and keep you at the top of your game.

What they need from you:

  • UK CAA Part 66 B1.1 License with current type rating
  • Clean record for airport security clearance and airside driving
  • Solid track record in both planned and unplanned line maintenance
  • Proven troubleshooting capabilities under pressure
  • Absolute commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
  • Current knowledge of CAA Part 145 requirements

Where there might be some flexibility:

Embraer 190 experience is highly valued, but they'll invest in the right candidates with comprehensive type training as long as you come in with at least 1 type rating and recency.

What’s in it for you?

  • Work-Life Balance That Actually Works: 5-5-4 roster with guaranteed 2 weekends off monthly
  • 24 x 12 hr shifts annual leave (plus bank holidays)
  • Financial Benefits: Salary, shift allowance, and joining/retention bonuses (£80-90K)
  • Comprehensive salary sacrifice options
  • Health cash plan with excellent coverage
  • Travel Perks: Unlimited standby travel worldwide
  • 30 heavily discounted tickets annually for family and friends
  • Eligible for bookable concessions after 12 months’ service
