The Technical Services Engineer supports base maintenance production and planning in performing maintenance and reviewing technical data. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise to engineers and customers to maintain and troubleshoot aircraft systems and structures.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for aircraft maintenance, repair, and modification, including developing repair solutions and ensuring compliance with approved data.
- Work with customers’ and the OEM – Boeing and Airbus – organizations to streamline the process of repairing and/or modifying the aircraft.
- Understand the Boeing SMAL process to aid production and shortages.
- Manage repairs and modifications being carried out and liaise with customer’s engineering department whenever necessary to seek agreement or approval.
- Via My Boeing Fleet and Airbus World and the OEM, obtain technical assistance and resolve structural and technical issues.
- Review Service Bulletins and ADs to support planning and execution of customers’ work scope.
- Have experience of STCs and the difference to the type certificate holder.
- Develop technical documentation and create work instructions in maintenance software system.
- Support base maintenance team whenever requested during complex troubleshooting.
- Provide expertise in tooling and materials resources to planning, production and procurement teams.
- Contribute to create and maintain a robust database and library of task cards in Willis ERP.
- Conduct training, and contribute to process improvements.
Requirements
- 3 years in a similar engineering position, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation.
- Solid knowledge of UKCAA & EASA regulations, Part-CAMO, Part-21 and Part-145.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft structures and Structural Repair Manuals.
- Experience with Boeing 737 and Airbus 320 aircraft is an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Rigorous and well organized.
- Good team player, flexible, autonomous, and proactive.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools.
- Knowledge of aviation maintenance software, Tracking+ (RUSADA) is an advantage.
- Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe maintenance practices.
