Technical Sales Engineer – Lightning & Surge Protection
Location: Northern Ireland
Role Summary
Our client is a global leader in lightning protection, surge protection, and electrical safety solutions. They are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to drive sales growth across the UK by providing technical expertise and developing strong relationships with consultants, contractors, OEMs, panel builders, and end-users across key infrastructure and industrial markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow sales opportunities for surge protection, lightning protection, earthing systems, electrical safety equipment, and monitoring solutions.
- Provide technical consultation, product selection guidance, and tailored solution proposals to customers.
- Generate new business opportunities across renewable energy, EV infrastructure, BESS, power distribution, transport, and industrial automation sectors.
- Build and manage relationships with distributors, electrical wholesalers, consultants, contractors, and OEM partners.
- Deliver technical presentations and support project specifications to secure product approvals and sales.
Required Qualifications
- HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of BS 7671 (18th Edition), BS EN/IEC 62305, and IEC 61643 standards.
- Experience within low-voltage electrical systems, power distribution, switchgear, control panels, or critical power infrastructure.
- Proven ability to combine technical expertise with commercial sales activities.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling into renewables, EV charging, utilities, industrial automation, or data centre sectors.
- Background in specification sales or technical solution selling.
