Maintenance Engineer
Location: Reading, Berkshire (Field-based)
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a leading engineering and technical services company covering Reading, Berkshire, and surrounding areas. This permanent, full-time role offers excellent training, career development opportunities, a company vehicle, and a competitive salary of Β£51,000 per annum.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned preventative maintenance, servicing, and repairs on specialist equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and/or electrical faults.
- Install and commission new equipment at customer sites.
- Respond to breakdowns and technical service callouts.
- Complete service reports and maintenance documentation accurately.
- Provide professional technical support and customer service.
- Manage a field-based workload across the assigned region.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or similar.
- Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent technical experience.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate technical records.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel throughout Reading, Berkshire, and surrounding areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with specialist equipment.
- Electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications.
- Installation and commissioning experience.
- Previous customer-facing engineering experience.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures and technical standards.
