Maintenance Engineer Location: Reading, Berkshire (Field-based) Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a leading engineering and technical services company covering Reading, Berkshire, and surrounding areas. This permanent, full-time role offers excellent training, career development opportunities, a company vehicle, and a competitive salary of Β£51,000 per annum. Key Responsibilities Perform planned preventative maintenance, servicing, and repairs on specialist equipment. Diagnose and resolve mechanical and/or electrical faults. Install and commission new equipment at customer sites. Respond to breakdowns and technical service callouts. Complete service reports and maintenance documentation accurately. Provide professional technical support and customer service. Manage a field-based workload across the assigned region. Required Qualifications Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or similar. Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent technical experience. Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills. Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to maintain accurate technical records. Full UK driving licence. Willingness to travel throughout Reading, Berkshire, and surrounding areas. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with specialist equipment. Electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications. Installation and commissioning experience. Previous customer-facing engineering experience. Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures and technical standards.
