Role Summary
A leading food manufacturing company in Cambridge is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the reliability, performance, and maintenance of production equipment. This is a hands‑on role offering a competitive salary, Monday to Friday day shifts, and additional earning potential through a 1-in-3 on-call rota.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive electrical maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on manufacturing and production equipment.
- Minimise downtime by supporting production operations.
- Fault‑find on control systems, motors, sensors, machinery, and associated equipment.
- Work with PLCs and industrial control systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety procedures.
- Participate in a 1 week in 3 on-call rota.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Electrical Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, or Multi‑Skilled Engineer.
- Strong electrical fault‑finding and maintenance skills.
- Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, or food production environments.
- Ability to diagnose and repair faults on industrial machinery.
- Good understanding of electrical safety and safe working practices.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to participate in an on‑call rota.
Preferred Qualifications
- Recognised electrical qualification or completed electrical apprenticeship.
- Experience with PLCs and control systems.
- Knowledge of sensors, motors, and industrial automation.
- Previous food manufacturing experience.
- Multi‑skilled mechanical maintenance experience.
