VH Talent is delighted to be working in partnership with our client, a leading engineering company in Hertfordshire to appoint a Lean Manager. This role will allow you to take the lead in transforming the site’s performance as Lean Manager. You’ll spearhead all Lean initiatives, deliver high-impact Lean Sigma Black Belt projects, and coach Green Belts, Kaizens, and A3s, becoming the go-to expert for Lean Sigma tools and methods. As a vital member of the Site Leadership Team, you’ll drive operational excellence today while shaping the strategy for tomorrow. Make a real impact and help take the site to the next level. The Lean Manager Role:

  • Lead the transformation of site operations by embedding a culture of High-Performing Teams across all functions.
  • Serve as the key link between the site and Product Group/Division, driving improvement initiatives and elevating team performance.
  • Take ownership of Business Continuity and Risk Management while ensuring strategies are effectively deployed and executed on the ground.
  • Deliver measurable business improvements and cost savings through targeted improvement projects.
  • Coach and develop Green Belts and problem-solving teams (Kaizens/A3s), building capability and embedding sustainable practices.
  • Drive the deployment and maturity of High-Performing Teams, and analyse complex business processes to deliver repeatable, quantifiable improvements aligned with site objectives.

You’ll Need:

  • Proven results in driving process improvements and automation projects, particularly in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing operations.
  • A Lean Sigma Belt qualification is essential, with Black Belt certification considered highly desirable.
  • Previous experience of delivering CI projects within a manufacturing or engineering setting.
  • Able to communicate and implement CI activities across the entire business and working in partnership with Departmental Managers and Senior Stakeholders.
  • Experienced in leading and influencing multiple teams.
  • Highly organised with the ability to work on multiple projects independently or as part of a wider team.
  • Adopts a proactive approach and able to make decisions to drive tasks to completion.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft packages, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Experienced in Project Management Tools; MS Project would be advantageous.
