VH Talent is delighted to be partnering with a renowned organisation to appoint an experienced HR Lead. The HR Lead will provide a full range of HR services and strategic support to Senior Leadership within a global engineering organisation. Accountable for delivering comprehensive HR support for a site of approximately 90 employees, partnering with managers to drive effective people management, employee engagement, workforce planning, recruitment, performance and talent management, organisational development, and Employee Relations, while ensuring consistent application of HR policies and practices.

The HR Lead Role:
- Work closely with senior leaders to strengthen leadership capability, build HR credibility, and support the delivery of operational objectives.
- Lead initiatives to improve employee engagement and embed High Performance Team (HPT) and PLS practices across the site.
- Partner with managers on workforce planning, including identifying staffing needs, managing vacancies, and supporting resource allocation.
- Screen CVs, develop talent pipelines, and support end-to-end recruitment activities. Introduce structured interview and selection frameworks to improve hiring quality and consistency.
- Design and implement learning and organisational development plans for the site.
- Advise managers on candidate offer recommendations aligned with internal compensation structures.
- Support the delivery of the annual performance and talent management cycle, working closely with managers to identify development and succession opportunities.
- Ensure HR policies and procedures are applied consistently and in line with company standards.
- Develop and deliver site-specific training initiatives to strengthen team capability and performance.
- Work with leaders to optimise the use of company-funded training and development programmes.
- Act as the key HR contact for managers and employees, providing guidance on complex people-related matters.
- Manage employee relations cases, including grievances and workplace issues, ensuring fair and compliant resolution.
- Coordinate and administer the annual salary review and merit process for operations employees.
- Provide advice and support on compensation, benefits, and HR policies.
- Produce HR reports and workforce analytics to inform leadership decision-making. Operate as part of the Senior Leadership team for the site.
You’ll Need:
- Previously worked within a HR Generalist role or similar
- Experience of partnering with senior leadership and operational managers
- Employee Relations (ER) experience, including managing complex cases
- Experience of leading HR for a site or business unit
- CIPD qualification (ideally Level 5) in Human Resource Management or People Management or equivalent
- Background in engineering, manufacturing, or other operational/technical environments, would be advantageous
