This standalone role requires a confident and experienced Health, Safety & Environmental professional who can take full ownership of on-site HSE management and lead initiatives that drive continuous improvement. The Health, Safety & Environmental Lead Role:
- Take ownership of all EHS programmes and activities at the site for a headcount of (Apply online only) employees.
- Focus on execution and outcomes, ensuring EHS plans are consistently reviewed and updated.
- Guarantee that EHS standards, methods, and best practices are effectively applied.
- Develop and manage the site-specific EHS strategy, working closely with all key stakeholders.
- Carry out compliance audits in line with the company's EHS requirements.
- Address compliance challenges and drive improvements through root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Organise and deliver EHS-related training sessions for team members at all organisational levels.
- Maintain continuous learning and awareness of EHS responsibilities among the site workforce.
- Advise on technical and practical EHS solutions to help meet site objectives, reduce non-compliance risks, and maintain a safe working environment.
- Track facility energy usage and implement local initiatives to improve efficiency.
- Partner with the Facilities team to uphold safe work practices and provide support during team absences.
- Administer the site's health surveillance programme to protect employee well-being.
- Operate as part of the Leadership Team, attending regular meetings and supporting the continuous improvement culture.
Your Requirements:
- Previous experience of operating within a HSE appointment within a manufacturing or engineering setting.
- Able to present and provide training to small and large teams.
- NEBOSH or IOSH trained or equivalent.
- Experienced of operating within a Continuous Improvement environment and applying Lean Principles.
- Previous management experience and able to lead and influence teams.
- Degree in a relevant field would be advantageous, however not essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft packages.
