VH Talent is delighted to be supporting our client to appoint a Production Manager for a renowned manufacturing facility based in Corby. The Production Manager will play an instrumental role in ensuring production runs smoothly, driving continuous improvement activities and ensuring customer demands are met.

The Production Manager Role:

  • Responsible for coordinating and overseeing all manufacturing processes, managing production to ensure efficiency and high quality is achieved, whilst budgets are being worked to.
  • Manage staffing levels, attendance, and absences to maintain efficient production flow.
  • Lead and motivate the Production team, completing daily shift meetings to set the objectives for the day and ensure targets are being worked to.
  • Ensure the team are being compliant with the quality, health and safety and hygiene standards.
  • Generate and analyse daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement. Also present these to the Senior Leadership team.
  • Ensure training and development is consistently carried out amongst the teams and new starters are introduced into the department and well equipped to perform their role.
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure customer demands are achieved and efficient and high-quality execution of tool and colour changes.
  • Complaint resolution with customers, identify root cause analysis and implement corrective action.
  • Oversee and monitor product quality and operational efficiency across all machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Liaise with Shift Leaders and Quality Teams to minimise waste, manage scrap, and optimise use of barriers and adhesives.

As Production Manager You’ll Need:

  • Previous experience of operating as a Production Manager in a manufacturing or engineering setting.
  • Experience of Continuous Improvement, 5S and Lean Principles.
  • Adopts a proactive approach and is able to lead and motivate a team to success.
  • A solution provider who can use initiative to resolve issues as they occur.
  • Project Management experience with the ability to prioritise and work towards milestones.
  • Completed one to ones and training and developing production team(s) to create a positive and competent working environment.
  • ISO 9001 and BRC experience is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages.
  • Will be required to be on-call due to the nature of the role.
