Salary: From £26,500 - £29,328 per annum

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm (40 hours per week)

Location: Narborough, Leicestershire

VH Talent is delighted to be working in partnership with our client, to appoint a reliable and motivated Sawyer to join their team. The Sawyer will be responsible for operating cutting machinery, preparing materials, carrying out quality checks and supporting the efficient operation of products. Working as part of a collaborative team, the successful candidate will play an instrumental role within the warehouse operations.

Snapshot of the Sawyer role:

  • Operate and assist with the setup of panel saws, wall saws, and CNC cutting equipment
  • Read and interpret cutting lists, job cards, and production orders
  • Load, secure, and process materials safely and accurately
  • Measure and inspect finished products using tapes, vernier callipers, micrometers, and other measuring equipment
  • Carry out quality checks to ensure products meet customer and company standards
  • Safely handle materials and maintain an organised warehouse and production area
  • Complete production records, job documentation, and report any defects or machine faults
  • Perform routine machine checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance
  • Work closely with colleagues to meet production targets and dispatch deadlines
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

You'll need:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or machine operative role
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently when required
  • A good understanding of workplace health and safety practices
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a positive work ethic

Desirable, however not essential:

  • Experience working with wood, plastics or sheet materials
  • CNC or laser cutting experience
  • Valid UK forklift truck licence, however not essential
  • Knowledge of production tolerances and batch manufacturing
