VH Talent is delighted to be partnering with a leading, global engineering organisation to recruit a standalone Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor. This role is suited to a proactive and knowledgeable HSE professional who can support site operations, provide expert advice, and contribute to the ongoing development of a strong health, safety and environmental culture.
The Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor Role:
- Provide day-to-day HSE support and advice across the site, supporting a workforce of approximately 100–120 employees.
- Assist with the implementation, review, and maintenance of EHS programmes and procedures.
- Support the consistent application of EHS standards, systems, and best practices.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of site-specific EHS plans in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Conduct internal audits and inspections in line with company EHS requirements.
- Support the investigation of incidents, near misses, and non-compliances, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Coordinate and deliver EHS-related training and toolbox talks to employees at all levels.
- Promote ongoing awareness and understanding of EHS responsibilities across the site.
- Provide practical and technical EHS guidance to help minimise risk and maintain a safe working environment.
- Monitor site energy usage and support local initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and sustainability.
- Work closely with the Facilities team to support safe systems of work and cover during periods of absence where required.
- Support the administration of the site health surveillance programme.
- Participate in site meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and safety culture development.
You’ll Need:
- Previous experience in a HSE Advisor or similar role within a manufacturing or engineering environment is essential.
- Confidence in delivering training and presenting to both small and large groups.
- NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent HSE qualification.
- Experience working within a Continuous Improvement environment; knowledge of Lean principles is desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
- A relevant degree would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
