A highly successful global organisation is looking to engage with a Monopile and Transition Piece (TP) Inspector for Offshore Wind. This role ensures that all primary foundations and components are manufactured, fabricated, and installed to the highest quality, safety, and OEM engineering specifications.
TP Inspector core responsibilities
- Fabrication & Assembly Oversight: Inspect monopiles, transition pieces, and associated steel structures during fabrication. Monitor welding processes, surface preparation, and heavy corrosion/painting applications.
- Quality Assurance & ITPs: Ensure manufacturing and installation conform strictly to the EA3 Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and relevant offshore standards like DNV-ST-N001.
- Documentation Review: Verify material certificates, welding procedure specifications (WPS), NDT reports, and structural tolerances prior to load-out and installation.
- Defect Management: Identify non-conformances (NCRs), track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and assist in punch-list clearance prior to asset handover.
- Site Supervision: Witness critical activities such as lifting and handling operations, bolting, flange connections, and primary and secondary steel installations.
TP Inspector essential requirements
- Technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Quality Management.
- CSWIP 3.1 or higher for Welding Inspection, plus Level II in NDT techniques (UT, MT, VT).
- Offshore Survival: Valid GWO Basic Safety Training (BST), BOSIET/HUET, and OGUK Medical.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of QA/QC inspection experience in offshore wind (specifically foundations) or heavy structural/oil and gas projects.
