Wind Turbine Inspector responsibilities include:
- Ensure all Wind Turbine Generator components, installations, mechanical/electrical systems, and commissioning activities meet the required quality standards, OEM specifications, contractual obligations, and HSE requirements for the offshore wind farm.
- Perform detailed inspections of WTG components, including tower sections, blades, hub, nacelle, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
- Verify compliance with OEM technical specifications.
- Conduct punch-list creation, tracking, and close-out.
- Oversee offshore installation activities.
- Verify correct bolting, torquing, tensioning, mechanical assembly, and cable terminations.
- Confirm safe lifting/handling of large components.
- Witness pre-assembly and load-out activities.
- Witness functional tests, energisation, and SCADA integration.
- Validate completion of mechanical and commissioning packages.
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety audits.
- Produce detailed inspection reports and NCRs.
- Provide updates on inspection status and risks.
Wind Turbine Inspector profile:
- Relevant technical qualification in mechanical / Electrical / Coatings Engineering or similar.
- Proven experience as WTG Inspector.
- 3-5 years experience ensuring Wind Turbine Generator components, installations, mechanical/electrical systems, and commissioning activities meet the required quality standards.
- Competence across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- GWO certifications.
- Offshore installation and commissioning experience.
- Understanding of OEM quality procedures.
- Familiarity with QA systems.
- Providing evidence-based advice to clients for informed decision-making.
