Quality Engineer / Lead Auditor – Midlands £45 per hour (outside IR35) + mileage + overnight accommodation + food allowance + extensive & interesting client portfolio + long-term contract work. This would suit a contract Quality Engineer / Lead Auditor who has other clients and is looking to add to their portfolio.
Responsibilities include:
- Act as a Quality Engineer / Lead Auditor, visiting various Nuclear supply chain sites across the UK as required.
- Responsible for undertaking quality inspections/audit activities for a range of projects.
- Conduct pre-audit visits and gap analysis of fabricators around the UK who are looking to attain or requalify for ISO 9001.
- Prepare audit plan; write reports; perform follow-up; provide certification recommendations.
- Ensure audit reports, finding evidence and auditor notes are submitted.
- Ensure client non-conformities are closed, review and analyse client responses.
- Provide answers to any requests arising during the technical review of files.
- Ensure all quality and client records related to audit and certification activities are maintained and up to date.
Profile:
- Relevant Engineering qualification.
- CSWIP 3.1/3.2 Previous or valid PCNs - combination of Radiographic, DPI, MPI and UT.
- IRCA Auditor (International Register of Certificated Auditors).
- Must have current & valid ISO 9001 External Auditing qualification.
- 3 years Lead Audit experience, ideally at least 1 year's external Lead Audit background.
- Auditing experience within the Nuclear Supply Chain / Fabrication / Oil & Gas or similar environments.
- Good knowledge of Quality Management systems.
- Experience assisting & organising audit teams beneficial.
- Client/stakeholder management experience.
- Confident communication & presentation skills.
