We are looking to engage with a qualified DSEAR Process Safety Consultant on an ongoing contract basis to assist a variety of clients in managing their risks associated with potentially explosive atmospheres and hazardous materials. Ideally, you will be located in the London area or South, SW UK and willing to cover projects as far as Milton Keynes, London & down to Portsmouth / Southampton. This will suit an individual who currently contracts, has other clients, and is happy to add extra long-term contract work to their portfolio.
DSEAR Process Safety Consultant remit:
- Conduct DSEAR audits and risk assessments, offering practical risk mitigation strategies
- Work independently to deliver high-quality DSEAR / H&S Risk Assessments across a varied client base.
- On average site-based 3 days a week / 2 days a week WFH (Report-writing)
- Develop and support implementation of safety management systems
- Provide technical advice and consulting to clients across industries to include oil & gas, chemicals, and pharma
- Keep up to date with industry regulations and best practice
- Deliver exceptional client service and build long-term professional relationships
- Client relationship management; deal with queries & challenges effectively and appropriately, offering expert advice and solutions
DSEAR Process Safety Consultant profile:
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related field
- A member of IchemE, CertIOSH, CMIOSH – or working towards this through active CPD
- Min 5 years’ experience in process safety, ideally within oil & gas, chemical, or pharma
- Demonstrated experience in leading and chairing studies such as HAZOP, Process Hazard Review (PHR), and Hazard Identification studies.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and standards around DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations).
- Confident developing process safety systems and offering expert consultancy
- Full UK driving licence + use of a car
