Field Expeditor – visiting various sites across the UK
£50p/h + 40-50hr week + mileage + overnight accommodation (as required) + food allowance + min 12 month contract (rolling)
A global organisation employing more than 55,000 individuals, is looking to engage with a Field Expeditor, who’s remit will be to:
- Support the timely delivery of categorized project plant equipment and contractor document deliverables to the agreed location and on-time.
- Troubleshoot supply chain issues with contractors and represent the group at meetings.
- Manage risk, perform schedule analysis, and ensure that schedule critical equipment and materials are suitably prioritized.
- Provide expediting support at manufacturers’ premises.
- Report regularly on contract package status to the Expediting Supervisor.
- Escalate issues which adversely affect delivery of critical equipment.
- Track and challenge progress in workshop and consistency of the schedule.
- Issue Expediting reports after each visit providing Status of procurement, document and manufacturing progress etc.
- Update material management system with latest forecast dates and comments.
- Oversight of the inspection points to ensure they are well managed.
- Work with contractor and other parties in the design and implementation of recovery plans.
- Consolidate information for the Shipment Authorisation Request / Advance Shipment Notice and liaise with relevant parties to ensure delivery/shipping can proceed.
Field Expeditor profile;
- Previous field expediting experience and proven track record is essential.
- Previous experience in EPR or mega scale international energy projects.
- Demonstrable knowledge and background in mechanical plant equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Ideally to be living in central UK belt on main arterial to be able to cover various manufacturing sites etc with ease.
- Relevant College/University education degree, or suitable experience.
- Understanding of Supply Chain Procurement, Manufacturing & Testing Level 3 scheduling.
- Knowledge of the supplier documentation submittal and review process.
- A working knowledge of integrated MRP /materials management systems.
- General knowledge of Nuclear Pressure Equipment requirements, RCC-M and RCC-E codes preferable.
- Experience of optimisation of production flow in factories.
- Flexibility to travel as and when necessary.
