£38.50 per hour (outside IR35 & following SC clearance) + site-based + average 45-55hr working week + travel time paid up to 5hrs per week + overtime rates + overnight accommodation allowance + long-term contract work (min 12 months & rolling).

Welding Inspector responsibilities include:

  • Site-based role, providing independent inspection and quality control services relating to equipment in manufacture, fabrication, and construction.
  • Provide detailed reports following inspections & quality control.
  • Equipment includes pressure systems / piping / other mechanical items manufactured and installed to conventional codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Review of fabrication / manufacturing documentation within delegated authority levels in terms of quality plans, ITP’s fabrication / manufacturing procedures, welding procedures, NDE procedures, compilation, and review of LTQRs.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external Customers.

Welding Inspector profile:

  • An experienced Welding Engineer / Inspector, ideally min 10 years background as a Welding Engineer, 5 years of which includes equipment inspections (NDT & material control).
  • Held / currently hold SC clearance or eligible for SC clearance (must have been residing & working in the UK for the last 5 years).
  • C&G Cert / or HNC/BTEC in Engineering discipline.
  • CSWIP 3.1/3.2 PCN required as minimum.
  • PCN Liquid Penetrant Inspection Level II required.
  • PCN Radiographic Interpretation level II required.
  • Sound understanding of Materials, Welding and NDE techniques.
  • Good working knowledge of UK requirements for Inspection in high hazard industries / COMAH sites or similar.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team, providing guidance, support and training as and when necessary.
