Welding Engineer / Inspector – site-based (min 6mths & rolling) £47 per hour (outside IR35) + 40-45hr average week Mon-Fri + overtime + longterm contract work

Welding Engineer / Inspector responsibilities include:

  • Provide independent inspection and quality control services relating to new equipment in manufacture, fabrication, and construction.
  • Equipment includes pressure / piping equipment and other mechanical / electrical items manufactured and installed to conventional codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Review of fabrication / manufacturing documentation within delegated authority levels in terms of quality plans, ITP’s fabrication / manufacturing procedures, welding procedures, NDE procedures, compilation, and review of LTQRs.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external Customers.

Welding Engineer / Inspector profile:

  • An experienced Welding Engineer / Inspector, ideally min 10yrs background as a Welding Engineer & 5yrs in equipment inspections (including NDT & material control).
  • C&G Cert / or equivalent experience in Fabrication & Welding and/or HNC/BTEC in appropriate engineering discipline.
  • Must have CSWIP 3.1/3.2.
  • TWI / MWeldI.
  • PCNs advantageous.
  • Sound understanding and qualification in Materials, Welding and NDE techniques.
  • Good working knowledge of UK requirements for Inspection in high hazard industries.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team, giving guidance, support and training as and when necessary.
