Mechanical / Welding Engineer – Somerset
£65 per hour (on payroll) + site-based + average 40-48hr working week + excellent overtime rates + long-term contract (min 12 months & rolling)
Mechanical / Welding Engineer responsibilities include:
- Installation / piping & other Mechanical Engineering works, oversight, testing & inspections.
- Review QA/QC paperwork / technical report writing.
- Work on large, mega-scale live construction site.
- Ensure site productivity is in line with agreed schedule.
- Risk assessments / quality Plans associated with project.
- Liaise with QC inspection team to ensure that all work is progressed to the required quality standards.
Mechanical / Welding Engineer profile:
- A Degree or similar level qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- Chartered mechanical Engineer status preferable.
- Min 10yr background in Mechanical Engineering including piping / Welding / installation Engineering, testing & inspections.
- Experience working as a Mechanical Engineer on live Construction site projects that may include Waste-Energy, Nuclear, O&G, Renewables, Airports etc.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to write technical reports.
- Ability to work in a team, giving guidance and support and training as and when necessary.
