Mechanical / Welding Engineer – Somerset

£65 per hour (on payroll) + site-based + average 40-48hr working week + excellent overtime rates + long-term contract (min 12 months & rolling)

Mechanical / Welding Engineer responsibilities include:

  • Installation / piping & other Mechanical Engineering works, oversight, testing & inspections.
  • Review QA/QC paperwork / technical report writing.
  • Work on large, mega-scale live construction site.
  • Ensure site productivity is in line with agreed schedule.
  • Risk assessments / quality Plans associated with project.
  • Liaise with QC inspection team to ensure that all work is progressed to the required quality standards.

Mechanical / Welding Engineer profile:

  • A Degree or similar level qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Chartered mechanical Engineer status preferable.
  • Min 10yr background in Mechanical Engineering including piping / Welding / installation Engineering, testing & inspections.
  • Experience working as a Mechanical Engineer on live Construction site projects that may include Waste-Energy, Nuclear, O&G, Renewables, Airports etc.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to write technical reports.
  • Ability to work in a team, giving guidance and support and training as and when necessary.
