Solar Installations Inspections Engineer – Wiltshire £45-50 per hour (outside IR35) + site-based Mon-Fri + 1 year min contract (rolling) + overtime rates Our Client, a successful global organisation, employing more than 60,000 people worldwide, is looking to engage with a Solar Installations Inspections Engineer to assist in delivering subject matter expertise on the construction site. Solar Installations Inspections Engineer remit includes; * Ensure that solar project construction activities comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. * Inspect materials, workmanship, and processes to ensure quality and safety throughout the project lifecycle. * Conduct daily inspections of solar panel installations, mounting structures, cabling, and electrical systems. * Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. * Prepare and maintain inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and quality records. * Preparation of ITPs and its implementation. * Witness, verify & record electrical and mechanical testing (e.g., insulation resistance, continuity, perform torque checks). * Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, IEC standards, and local regulatory requirements. * Support internal and external audits and implement corrective actions as needed. * Liaise with construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve quality issues. * Participate in quality meetings and toolbox talks to promote a culture of quality and safety. Solar Installations Inspections Engineer profile; * Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering. * Minimum 3–5 years of QA/QC inspections experience in solar or renewable energy construction / installation projects. * Working knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, and related components. * Knowledge of quality standards (ISO, IEC, NEC) and inspection techniques. * Proficient in MS Office and quality management software (training provided) * Level 3(2382-22) & Level 3(2391-52) will be an advantage. * Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
