Mechanical QC Inspector / Engineer responsibilities include:

  • Provide independent inspection and quality control services relating to new equipment in manufacture, fabrication, and construction.
  • Equipment includes pressure / piping equipment and other mechanical / electrical items manufactured and installed to conventional codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Review of fabrication / manufacturing documentation within delegated authority levels in terms of quality plans, ITP’s fabrication / manufacturing procedures, welding procedures, NDE procedures, compilation, and review of LTQRs.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external Customers.

Mechanical QC Inspector / Engineer profile:

  • An experienced Mechanical Engineer / Inspector, ideally min 10yrs background as a Welding Engineer & 5yrs in equipment inspections (including NDT & material control).
  • SC cleared / previously SC cleared OR eligible for SC clearance (resident & working in the UK for the last 5yrs).
  • C&G Cert / or equivalent experience in Fabrication & Welding and/or HNC/BTEC in engineering discipline.
  • CSWIP 3.1/3.2PCN.
  • Radiographic Interpretation Level II.
  • PCN Liquid Penetrant Inspection Level II OR Magnetic Particle Inspection Level II.
  • Sound understanding in Materials, Welding and NDE techniques.
  • Good working knowledge of UK requirements for Inspection in high hazard industries.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team, providing guidance, support and training as and when necessary.
