The predicted salary is between 93600 - 104000 £ per year.
Site-based position in Reading, £45-£50 per hour (location/travel dependent) + average 45-50hr week (outside IR35) + minimum 12-month contract + overtime rates + collaborative team environment + long-term contract work.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the progress, quality and safety of projects and multi-disciplined contract workers onsite.
- Verify that materials, equipment, and workmanship comply with the approved specifications and drawings.
- Identify any defects or non-conformances and work with the contractors to ensure timely corrective actions are taken.
- Maintain detailed records of site inspections, test results, and any issues or deviations from the approved plans.
- Attend project meetings and provide updates on the status of projects.
- Review and approve contractor invoices and change orders related to scope of work.
Profile:
- HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- SSSTS/SMSTS certificate required.
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Clerk of Works/M&E Supervisor or similar.
- 10 years experience working on Electrical or Mechanical installations/equipment on large complex construction projects, including Nuclear, Heavy Industry, Renewables, Waste-to-Energy, Roads, Rail, Airports etc.
- Previous or current Security clearance OR Security clearance eligible (last 5 years living & working in the UK required).
- Good understanding of overall operations on a construction site with a focus on safety, compliance, project progress & ensuring multi-disciplined contractors are engaged at all times.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with contractors, clients, and project team members.
