  • We are seeking experienced

3rd Officers ready to join Balearia Ro Ro passenger ferries. Embarkation ASAP, contract 3 months on/off, required experienced as such, all valid Certificates.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe navigational watch on the bridge while the vessel is at sea, at anchor and in port in accordance with Company Policies, national and international standards, and prescribed regulations.
  • Assist and support the Safety Officer and Navigation Officer in all respects according to the Master’s or Staff Captain’s instructions.
  • Participate in crew and passenger safety drills according to instructions.
  • Comply with the Company’s safety and pollution prevention regulations and operating procedures.
  • Lead by example in Health and Safety of self and others and ensure proper use of work equipment, personal protective equipment, chemicals and safety devices.

  • Reporting to the Captain and Chief Officer
  • Subordinates – Quarter Master

Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • Valid STCW95 certification.
  • Valid Co C A-II/1.
  • Appropriate certification as required by regulations.
  • Thorough knowledge of and ability to use navigational charts and publications (sailing directions, tide tables, notices to mariners, radio navigational warnings, ships\' routing information).
  • Physically and medically fit.
  • Moral integrity is required.
  • Coast Guard and Port State Control experience.
  • Language requirements
  • Fluent English (verbal, written and technical).

English is the working and safety language on board.

Ability to give and receive instructions in verbal and written forms and to engage with guests and crew.

Additional languages are considered beneficial.

  • Computer knowledge
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Required to stand, walk long distances, reach and sit.

Repetitive motion of bending, climbing stairs and ladders.

Lifting or pushing up to 50 lbs.

Overtime work and irregular schedules.

Works on the Bridge with light traffic and distracting environments.
