Overall Purpose of The Job

To provide professional HR support and direction to the MD of the assigned Division, his/her leadership team and the broader division. To provide leadership and support for all HR-related activities within the division or geographical scope in accordance with V.Group HR policies and procedures and the relevant jurisdictions employment legislation enabling delivery of relevant business unit objectives and embedding best practice people strategies which continuously support our goal to be an employer of choice. To contribute to the delivery of the V.Group HR strategy as part of the regional or divisional HR leadership team.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Understanding the HR implications of the key business initiatives of the division/region, identifying the implications in terms of organisation structure, headcount, operational footprint, skills and capabilities and ensuring the required strategies, processes and tactics are in place to support the growth objectives of the business.
  • Coach and develop line managers to enhance competency and capability in the management and motivation of their people across the full range of people disciplines, e.g. recruitment, selection, induction, performance management and development, employment legislation, reward and succession planning.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of business initiatives with a particular focus on the organisational change and communication aspects of the business objectives by providing support and guidance to leaders and managers in the application of compliant people related processes and procedures.
  • Responsibility for all areas of employee relations, encompassing organisation change and development, performance management, discipline and grievance.
  • Create, build and sustain effective working relationships and networks with key partners, both internally and externally, including external legal advisors and appropriate local service providers as agreed with the Group functional expert, e.g. learning & development, recruitment, reward.
  • As applicable, leading the HR team in the effective development and execution of HR policies, procedures and processes and ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of HR ‘back office’ functions including Payroll, Benefits and all related HR administration activities leveraging the capability of PeopleConnect.
  • Provide leadership and coaching in relation to an emerging talent management agenda focussed on pragmatic delivery of ‘people plans’ aimed at attracting, engaging and retaining employees.
  • Promote and ensure adherence to the Group Policies and Procedures and relevant employment legislation in all locations within the relevant region, seeking support as required from the Head of HR and other HR colleagues.

Essential

  • HR generalist with a breadth of exposure across the range of HR functional specialisms – ER/IR, Recruitment, Rewards, HR operations in regional area.
  • Strong experience and knowledge of HR policy, Employment Law, TUPE, and Employee Relations required.
  • The person will thrive on working with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment and will be comfortable ‘rolling up their sleeves’ to provide real-time support.
  • The successful individual will be a highly experienced, talented commercial HR leader with a sharp intellect, a commitment to delivering results, and an effective communicator and influencer capable of building relationships and driving through change working in a collaborative and proactive way.
  • An organised approach to work with good prioritization skills, project management skills, high level of numeracy and literacy with a focus on attention to detail.
  • A positive, can-do and pragmatic approach to challenges and complexity.
  • Enthusiasm and energy to inspire and lead others with an ability and appetite to drive cultural change.
  • An individual with a team mentality who is capable of fostering close collaboration with business partners.
  • With experience in an HR generalist role at manager level, with experience of operating in a geographically dispersed organization with employees located across multiple countries.
  • Proven leadership skills and evidence of resilience; Proven ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and make best use of limited resources.

Desirable

  • IT literate and highly proficient in use of Microsoft products.
