Quantity Surveyor (Environment Agency Projects) Location: Cambridge Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in the Eastern Region, initially focusing on long-term schemes for the Environment Agency. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a leading civil engineering contractor working on vital infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities – Ensure compliance with all quality, safety, and environmental objectives. – Prepare and manage plans, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and related documentation. – Conduct on-site measurements and review technical drawings. – Identify potential commercial and project risks, evaluating mitigation options. – Perform ongoing cost analysis for maintenance and repair works. – Support dispute resolution with robust cost data and documentation. – Carry out feasibility studies based on client requirements. – Prepare estimates and evaluate subcontractor quotations. – Manage and agree variation accounts, interim valuations, and final accounts. – Prepare and issue payment certificates to subcontractors. Skills & Experience Required – Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in heavy civil engineering projects. – Strong working knowledge of the NEC form of contract is essential. – High-level numeracy and IT skills, with a detail-oriented and analytical mindset. – Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities. – Must hold a full UK driving licence and be comfortable with travel across the Eastern Region
