Pre construction – Engineer \\nLocation – St Albans \\nSalary – £40K – £45k \\nContract – permanent \\n \\nThe Role: \\nThe purpose of this role is to provide site engineering duties to a number of projects within the region. The Pre-Construction Engineer will establish the level and survey control for contracts and set out detailed works per the contract drawings, ensuring that checks are made regularly. \\n \\nKey Responsibilities: \\nHealth, safety & environment \\n- Promote the Barhale Cardinal Rules and establish safe working cultures and practices \\n- Comply with company procedures and legal obligations \\n- Promote and comply with environmental compliance \\n- Deliver the works safely \\nQuality \\n- Promote best practice \\n- Comply with company procedures \\n- Ensure work is delivered defect/snag-free \\n- Endeavour to spot and highlight value engineering opportunities \\nSite engineering \\n- Establish the level and survey control for contracts \\n- Set out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring checks are carried out regularly \\n- Ensure that records are accurate and comply with organisational and legal requirements \\n- Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time \\n- Produce procurement schedules for the jobs and liaise with our procurement department to ensure the site has adequate resources to complete the tasks \\n- Produce ITPs and Task Briefings \\n- Produce 2 two-week look ahead in conjunction with the Site Agent \\n- Produce Site Diaries and Allocation Sheets \\n \\nEssential \\n- Previous experience of setting out on civil engineering projects \\n- Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations \\n- Fully conversant with the use of robotic total station or EDM instruments \\n- Degree qualified/HNC (or equivalent) in civil engineering \\n- Excellent communication skills \\n- Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook \\nDesirable \\n- Experience in using AutoCAD and MS Office \\n- Temporary-works co-ordination \\n- CSCS card \\n- Cable avoidance training \\n- First aid training \\n- NEBOSH or IOSH \\n \\nBenefits: \\n- Competitive salary \\n- Company Pension \\n- Life Assurance \\n- Private Medical \\n- 25 days annual leave in addition to 8 public bank holidays and loyalty days \\n- 8 hours volunteering \\n- Employee Assistance Programme to support your mental, physiological and financial wellbeing \\n- Flexible benefits via salary sacrifice \\n- Company car/green car scheme/car allowance/Van (dependent on position) \\n- Leadership & management training and coaching \\n- Regular line management engagement and appraisal to support your career progression \\n- Development supported by internal and externally delivered training \\n- Flexible working arrangements \\n- Annual salary review \\n- Continuous service awards \\n \\nIf you are interested in this pre – construction engineer position, please apply now with an updated copy of your CV.
