VGC Group is looking for a Payroll Assistant to join our busy payroll team at our Ruislip Head Office.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-focused payroll professional to join a supportive team and develop their experience within a high-volume payroll environment.
About the role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time every week.
You will be involved in the processing of weekly PAYE, Umbrella and LTD payrolls, supporting employee queries and maintaining accurate payroll records.
You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, organisation and the ability to meet tight weekly deadlines are essential.
Key responsibilities
- Input and review weekly timesheets, including hours worked, overtime and holiday submissions.
- Process starters, leavers and employee changes accurately.
- Assist with weekly PAYE, Umbrella and LTD payroll processing.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
- Respond to employee payroll queries professionally and promptly.
- Prepare payroll reports for Finance and management.
- Ensure payroll deadlines are consistently met.
- Support the wider payroll team with day-to-day payroll activities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant payroll legislation and company procedures.
About you
We're looking for someone with at least 1 year of Payroll experience who is confident working with numbers and has excellent attention to detail.
- Previous payroll experience, preferably within a high-volume environment.
- Strong numerical and administrative skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
- The ability to work accurately under pressure and to tight weekly deadlines.
- A calm, professional and positive approach.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a busy team.
Experience with RSM In-Time would be advantageous, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.
We would also welcome applications from candidates who have relevant accounts experience and are looking to develop their career in payroll.
