Are you a Methods Engineer with a passion for shaping winning bids on complex civil engineering projects? We're working with a leading international contractor seeking an experienced Methods Engineer to join their growing work-winning team based in Swindon. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in securing major infrastructure and civil engineering schemes, developing innovative construction methodologies and helping to deliver successful tender submissions across challenging and high-profile projects.
The Role
As a Methods Engineer, you'll work closely with Bid Managers, Planners, Technical Services, Procurement and Operational teams to develop robust, safe and innovative delivery solutions during the tender phase.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing construction methodologies and work-winning strategies
- Reviewing tender documentation and technical specifications
- Producing technical proposals, sequencing plans and construction methodologies
- Identifying project risks and developing mitigation strategies
- Supporting project planning, resource forecasting and programme development
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering and bid teams
- Providing technical input for client presentations and bid submissions
- Supporting major civil engineering and underground construction opportunities
What We're Looking For
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years' experience within civil engineering projects
- Strong understanding of construction methods and delivery techniques
- Experience supporting tenders, bids or pre-construction activities
- Ability to interpret complex drawings, specifications and technical information
- Excellent planning, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Commercial awareness and understanding of construction procurement
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
