An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading organisation delivering complex infrastructure and construction projects. You will take a key commercial lead across projects, ensuring effective cost control, contract administration, and risk management, with a particular focus on NEC contracts (Option E) and cost-reimbursable frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial management of projects from tender stage through to final account
- Administer NEC contracts (Option E), ensuring compliance and best practice
- Manage compensation events, variations, and change control processes
- Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim valuations and final accounts
- Monitor and forecast project costs, budgets, and cash flow
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Provide strategic commercial input to project delivery teams
- Build and maintain strong client, subcontractor, and stakeholder relationships
- Support and mentor Assistant and Intermediate Quantity Surveyors
- Ensure accurate reporting and adherence to company governance procedures
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure or major construction
- Strong knowledge and practical experience of NEC contracts (especially Option E)
- Experience working on cost-reimbursable or target cost contracts
- Excellent commercial awareness and financial management skills
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or equivalent)
- Membership of a professional body (e.g. RICS) is advantageous
